Assam paper leak

The Biology exam of the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) for class 12 has been postponed due to the leaking of question papers on social media websites and certain other areas on March 7th. The leaking of Board examination papers has been a crucial issue in the past few years. In spite of proper control and security, the unfortunate leaking of question papers every year has not been put down. The Physics paper which has also been leaked will be held on March 17 while the Biology paper is scheduled for March 19.

The rest of the exam will take place as scheduled by the Board. Those copies of leaked Biology paper showed an 80% resemblance to the original one. The Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) has set up a special committee to look into this matter comprising of comprising Laxmi Nath Tamuli, a retired IAS officer, and Jitaram Dutta, the former academic registrar of Gauhati University. This committee is soon to deliver its statement. Meanwhile, a CID probe has also been sought.

The said CID probe took place on March 9th. A four-member team was appointed to look into this and they reached the Salt Brook Academy (SBA) in Dibrugarh to inspect the Biology paper-leak issue. Certain questions that had a similarity with the original question paper had been scribbled on the walled boundary of a house near the school. School authorities were immediately informed, after which photographs of the place were sent across to the higher authorities. Very soon a report would be provided for the incident.
