A combination of academic achievement and management-level business experience are considered important qualifications for faculty in this industry.

Eligibility Criteria:

There are specialized undergraduate degrees for many of the jobs in the hospitality career. Many of the service level positions do not require undergraduate degrees, however do require specialized schooling. Joint degrees are also there to study combinations of subjects, such as, tourism and leisure, tourism and hospitality, hospitality and marketing.

Entrance  to Tourism and hospitality:

There are many Graduate and Masters courses in Hotel and Catering Management, Hospitality Management, and Tourism Management. These are suitable for people who have an interest in employment in a specific sector of the industry. When looking at courses in hospitality (For hotels and restaurant management) and tourism (travel and tourism). There are also more specialised Masters Courses in Tourism covering areas such as Tourism Marketing, Cultural Tourism, Tourism Planning, Heritage Management, Museum Management, Cultural Tourism and Sustainable Tourism.

Job Opportunity:

Hospitality and tourism represents a broad range of career opportunities in industries that include: hotels and resorts, restaurants and commercial food service, meeting and event planning, tourism destinations and attractions, leisure, recreation and sports management, airlines, cruises and other transportation, environmentally sustainable and cultural tourism development, spa and wellness management.
