CBSE introduces online tutorial for girls doing engineering


CBSE –  Central Board of Secondary Examination is going to provide free resources for preparation to girl students of Class 11 and 12 in PCM stream for admission test of engineering colleges in the country.

These girl students can either apply online or a copy of application can be submitted to CBSE city coordinators. The last date to send the application is 27th of October.

to address the low enrollment ratio of girls in engineering institutions and to enable girl students to receive special incentives and support, the board has come up with a project called Ã?daan’. The project targets to provide them support so that they can join these institutions and go on to take leadership roles in the future. The aim was to enrich and enhance teaching and learning of science and mathematics at senior secondary level by providing free and online resources to everyone with a focus on separate incentives and support to 1,000 selected disadvantaged girls every year.

Candidates with minimum of 70 per cent marks in Class 10 overall and 80 per cent in Science and Mathematics and for boards which follow cumulative grade point average (CGPA), a minimum CGPA of 8 and GPA of 9 in science and mathematics can apply with a filled in applications and send it to CBSE, 4th floor, Shiksha Sadan, 17 Rouse Avenue, New Delhi, 110002.

Preference will be given to girls from economically disadvantaged background. Apart from the girl students, 50% seats have been reserved for students from SC/ST/backward classes who can use the tutorials, lectures and study materials that will be provided online and on tablets for preparation of IIT JEE.
