IBPS- Institute of Banking Personnel Selection is an Autonomous body is set up to provide Quality manpower to the Banking system.

From 2011 IBPS started CWE- Common Written Examination to select the candidates for Officers and Clerks for India  PSU Banks and it set to be Mandatory for all PSU Banks for the recruitment process.

CWE- Common Written Examination process is completely online and 20 Banks are participating in the recruitment process.

During 2015-16 total 1.27cr candidates registered for IBPS Examination for Various posts.

These are PSU Banks accepting candidates through different Exams conducted by IBPS.

It also offers candidates for NABARD, IDBI, LIC and few other Public Sector Companies.

List of Examination Conducted By IBPS:-

These are 4 Type of Examination conducted by IBPS for Every Bank. The post may different bank to bank.

  1. CWE Specialist Officer
  2. CWE PO/MT
  3. CWE Clerical
  4. CWE RRB (Regional Rural Banks)

Eligibility Requirement for IBPS Examination

There are multiple Banks participating for IBPS Exam but only single eligibility is applicable for all candidates those are applying through this Common Written Exam.

  • Nationality
  • Educational Qualification
  • Age Requirement
  • Qualification for Individual Post

Graduation is the Main criteria for all 4 Examination conducted by IBPS. But along with this criteria, different eligibility is applicable for different posts.

Age Eligibility is Applicable for all 4 Examination. The candidate must be in between the age of 20 to 30 at the time of application process. ( check the age eligibility before applying for it).

Upper Age limit is relaxed for below Category Candidates. Relaxation can be given only by providing certificates for this.

  • SC/ST: 5 Years
  • OBC: 3 Years
  • Persons with Disability: 10 Years
  • Ex- Service Man: 5 Years

Pattern of IBPS Examination

Exam Pattern of IBPS Examination is similar to other competitive Examination. The test is available in bilanguage, Hindi and English.

Exam Pattern is Different for 4 Common Written Examination.

  • English Language
  • General Awareness with Special Reference to Banking Industry
  • Professional Knowledge

Along with this Quantitative Aptitude is additional for IT Officer Scale I, Agricultural Field Officer Scale I, HR/ Personnel Officer Scale I &Marketing Officer Scale I.

> The structure of Examination for Probationary Officers / Management Trainees

In the Probationary Examination, Main Exam will be followed by Preliminary Examination.

For Preliminary Examination:-

  • English Language
  • Quantitative Aptitude
  • Reasoning Ability

For Main Examination:-

  • Reasoning
  • English Language
  • Quantitative Aptitude
  • General Awareness- Special Reference to Banking Industry
  • Computer Knowledge

The structure of CWE Clerks is same as PO/Management Trainees.
