ESIC Admit Card Out for SSO Mains 2018

Employee’s State Insurance Corporation Limited has released the notification for recruitment for the post of Social Security Officer (SSO)/Manager Grade II/ Superintendent.

As per the Notification, the 2014 recruitment declared by ESIC and all those candidates who have applied then for the recruitment under this post in ESIC can now re-fill the application form. Candidates who had applied in 2014 but are now age barred will get the Age relaxation to that extent and will also be exempted from payment of application fee on furnishing the correct registration no. of the previous application. Total numbers of vacancies under this year’s recruitment process are 539. 

The Online Application Process has started. The details of the ESIC SSO Recruitment 2018 Notification are given below –

Important Dates

  • Start Date for ESIC Registration for 2018 exam – 7th Sept 2018
  • Closing Date for the Application- 5th Oct 2018

ESIC SSO Recruitment 2018- Essential Qualification

  • A Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University (Preference will be given to the graduates in Commerce/Law/Management).
  • Candidates must have knowledge of computer including use of office suites and database
  • Experience (Desirable): Three years’ service in a Government Organization or Corporation or Government Undertaking or Local Body or Scheduled Bank etc.

Age limit and Nationality

  • Candidates should be between 21 to 27 years as on the closing date 05.10.2018
  • The persons belonging to reserved categories i.e. SC/ST/OBC/PWD/Ex-Servicemen and for ESIC Employees, Government Servants have some upper age limit relaxation.
    • A candidate must be either:

    (a) A citizen of India,

    (b) A citizen of Nepal,

    (c) A citizen of Bhutan

    (d) A Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the Ist January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India,

    (e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

    Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d) and (e) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India. A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the Examination but the offer of appointment will be given only after the necessary eligibility certificate has been issued to him by the Government of India.

    Documents to be uploaded

    • Photograph (4.5cm × 3.5cm)
      • Make sure that the picture is in colour, taken against a light-coloured, preferably white, background.
      • Dimensions 200 x 230 pixels (preferred)
      • Size of file should be between 20kb–50 kb
    • Signature
      • The signature should be done by the applicant on white paper with Black Ink pen.
      • Signature in CAPITAL LETTERS shall NOT be accepted.
        • File type: jpg / jpeg o
        • Dimensions: 140 x 60 pixels in 200 DPI (Preferred for required quality)
        • File Size: 20 KB – 50 KB
      • Left thumb impression
        • The applicant has to put his left thumb impression on a white paper with black or blue ink
          • File type: jpg / jpeg
          • Dimensions: 240 x 240 pixels in 200 DPI (Preferred for required quality) i.e. 3 cm × 3 cm (Width * Height)
          • o File Size: 20 KB – 50 KB
        • A handwritten declaration
          • The handwritten declaration should not be written in CAPITAL LETTERS.
          • The applicant has to write the declaration in English clearly on a white paper with black or blue ink.
            • File type: jpg / jpeg
            • Dimensions: 800 x 400 pixels in 200 DPI (Preferred for required quality) i.e 10 cm × 5 cm (Width × Height)
            • File Size: 50 KB – 100 KB

    The handwritten declaration should be as follows –

    “I,______( Name of the candidate), hereby declare that all the information submitted by me in the application form is correct, true and valid. I will present the supporting documents as and when required.”

    Payment of Application Fee

    The fee of Rs.250/- shall be refunded duly deducting Bank Charges as applicable, on appearing of the candidates in the Part-I written Examination

    • The payment can be done by using Debit Cards (RuPay/Visa/MasterCard/Maestro), Credit Cards, Internet Banking, IMPS, Cash Cards/ Mobile Wallets.
    • All those candidates who had applied against the previous advertisement notice dated 16.01.2014 are exempted from payment of application fee. Provided they furnish their earlier Registration No. of online application in the online application.

     Examination Centre

    The candidate must select the center in the application form in which he/she desires to take the exam at the time of filling the application.

    • The examination will be conducted all over Indian in online mode in venues given in the respective call letters.
    • Request for change of center/venue/date/session for Examination shall not be entertained.
    • There will be no TA/ DA for any candidate including SC/ST candidates for appearing in the examinations.

    Scheme of Examination

    There are three stages in the examination

    • Phase –I Preliminary Examination
    • Phase –II Main Examination
    • Phase –III           Computer Skill Test & Descriptive Test
    • Phase –I -Preliminary Examination
      • Phase –I is qualifying in nature and marks will not be reckoned for final merit.
      • For each wrong answer, there will be a negative marking of one-fourth of the mark assigned to that question. 3.
      • The candidates will be shortlisted for Phase-II in the ratio of 1:10 i.e. about 10 times the number of vacancies in each category on the basis of their performance in Phase – I.

    • Phase –II -Main Examination
      • The marks obtained in Phase – II will be considered for final selection.
      • For each wrong answer, there will be a negative marking of one-fourth of the mark assigned to that question.
      • The candidates will be shortlisted for Phase-III in the ratio of 1:5 i.e. about 5 times the number of vacancies in each category on the basis of their performance in Phase – II.

    • Phase –III -Computer Skill Test & Descriptive Test

        • Preparation of two Power Points Slides – 10 Marks
        • Typing matter on MS Word with formatting – 20 Marks
        • Preparation of Table on MS Excel with use of formulae – 20 Marks



    • Descriptive Paper – English Language (Letter Writing & Essay)

    Note :

    • The working knowledge of PWD candidates who are unable to type shall be assessed by conducting an Objective Type computer Test of 50 marks with no negative marking.
    • Computer Skill Test and Descriptive paper will be qualifying in nature. Marks obtained will not be quantified for merit ranking.

    Important Instructions for Candidates:

    • The applicant must apply online through the website
    • Take a printout of the finally submitted online application form.
    • No need of submitting the application or any other document to the ESIC by Post.
    • Download of Call Letter- Candidates will have to visit the ESIC website for downloading the call letter by using their
      • Registration Number/ Roll Number
      • Password/ Date of Birth
    • Intimation of downloading the call letter will be sent through email/SMS.
    • Candidate needs to affix recognizable photograph on the call letter preferably the same as provided during registration and appear at the examination centre

    To avoid last moment rush candidates are advised to apply online much before the closing date and not wait till the last date.
