Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre, Government of India has invited applications for the posts of Junior Research Fellow and Research Associate recently. Eligible candidates can apply to the post through the prescribed format on or before 22 February 2016. There are eight posts for Junior Research Fellow (JRF) and nine posts are empty for Research Associate (RA). ISRO will select the candidates on the basis of the interview/exam conducted by the organization.
JRFs who would be eligible must have a M.Sc. Degree in Physics/Applied Physics/Space Physics /Atmospheric Science/Meteorology/ Space Science/Planetary Sciences/Astronomy/ Astrophysics or any other allied field or with M.Sc. Physics with specialization in any one of the above subjects including Electronics, or M. Tech in Atmospheric/Space/Planetary Sciences/Applied Physics or allied fields with minimum 60% marks as average of all semesters or CGPA/CPI grading of 6.5 on a 10 point scale or equivalent. For RA, Candidates should have earned their Ph.D. degree in any discipline of Science or Technology. Their Ph.D. thesis should be in the areas of atmospheric, space, and planetary sciences which are relevant to the fields of research being carried out at SPL.
The establishment of ISRO has institutionalised space activities in India. The last date being 22 February, candidates would need to apply with all the required documents by post through following the prescribed format. ISRO‘s vision is to “harness space technology for national development, while pursuing space science research and planetary exploration”. This opportunity to be a part of ISRO is a much prized one.
