What Is “Kanyashree” scheme?
To prevent the child marriage and hoping for a bright career for the girl child “Kanyashree” scheme was launched by West Bengal Govt led by Mamata Banarjee .
Benefit By Kanyashree Scheme?
Under the Kanyashree Scheme, onetime payment of Rs 25000 will be offered to the Girl child for Education and is not married of bellow 18 year age. The scheme is available for the families with the annual income of 1.2 lakh.
Most of the Girl child drop out from their education in the mid of class VIII to XII. There is a provision of Annual Scholarship of Rs 500 to be paid to the Girl child to protect their education in this level.
Expected Impact of the Scheme:-
West Bengal has the highest report of the Child Marriage and it is a socio economic problem of the State. The Daughter of a Poor Families force fully get Married only due to the lack of money and education.
This scheme will help the poor family to give the education to their Girl child and they can wait for the marriage also.
This Scheme is available, irrespective of caste and community. Govt has taken Broad step for the scheme and to reach the people they have given advertisement in Print media as well as electronic media.
The scheme is expected to down the rate of Under Age Marriage and dropout rate among the Girl Child.
