In 2013, NEET – National Eligibility Entrance Test is announced by Govt of India for the admission into Under Graduate and Post Graduate Medical programs across Govt and Private Colleges.

For Undergraduate Courses, NEET is conducted by Central Board of Education whereas for Post Graduate Courses it is conducted by National Board of Education. 

NEET – UG replaced All India Pre Medical Test (AIPMT) and all individual MBBS Exams conducted by state wise.

But the decision of NEET was opposed by Various State Govt and some of the States continue with their own Medical Entrance Examination for the Admission process.

25 Medical Entrance Examination for MBBS Degree

In India, various autonomous bodies, central board of education and state boards of education conducts various entrance tests to get into under-graduate medical courses (MBBS).

Details of these tests are enlisted below for easy perusal and quick reference.

Under Graduate – National Level

1. AIIMS MBBS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences MBBS Entrance Exam)

AIIMS is considered as one of the most difficult medical entrance test in India. There are stipulated eligibility criteria which one should abide by.

The candidate appearing for AIIMS test has to be 17 years at least by age. They should have passed standard 10+2 exam with minimum aggregate 60% in order to write this test. This test is conducted in the month of May in each year.

2. NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test)

NEET is the new name of older popular entrance test AIPMT (All India Pre Medical Test). This is the most popular medical entrance test in India.

This is conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education. The syllabus is same as that of CBSE. The pattern of questions is multiple choice (MCQ).

NEET is held in the month of May of each year.

3. AFMC PMT (Armed Forces Medical College Pre-Medical Test)

This is the entrance test to get into AMFC, Pune. This test is conducted in the month of July every year.

The syllabus of the test is same as CBSE 12th standard syllabus of Biology, Physics, and Chemistry.

There is no age restriction for this test.

4. BVP CET (Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University UG Medical Entrance Examination)

Candidates who qualify this test can take admission to any medical college under Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University. 

The syllabus is same as CBSE syllabus of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. This test is conducted in the month of July each year.

5. KLEU AIET (KLE University All India Medical Entrance Test)

Candidates who qualify this test are eligible to get admitted to any medical college under KLE University Hubli. This test is conducted in June-July every year.

Minimum Qualification to apply for NEET Exam6. MU OET – Medical (Manipal University Online Entrance Test – Medical)

This entrance test is conducted by Manipal University and candidates who qualify it gets into the colleges under this university. This test is conducted in July every year.

Under Graduate – State Level

7. BCECE (Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination

This test is conducted by Bihar State Board of Higher Secondary Education for UG admission into all medical colleges of Bihar. It is held in March-April month of every year.

8. CG PMT (Chhattisgarh Pre Medical Test)

This test is conducted by Chhattisgarh State Board of Higher Secondary Education for UG admission into all medical colleges of Chhattisgarh.It is held in March-April month of every year.

9. CET PPMC (Common Entrance Test for Pondicherry Private Medical Colleges)

This test is conducted by Pondicherry State Board of Higher Secondary Education for UG admission into all medical colleges of Pondicherry. It is held in June every year.

10. COMEDK UGET (Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka Under Graduate Education Test)

This test is conducted by Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK) for UG admission into all medical colleges of Karnataka under this body. It is held in June every year.

11. DCECE (Diploma Certificate Entrance Competitive Examination)

This test is conducted by Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) for diploma course admission into all medical, paramedical and dental colleges of Bihar.It is held in May-June month of every year.

12. GUJCET (Gujarat Common Entrance Test)

This test is conducted by Gujarat State Board of Higher Secondary Education for UG admission into all medical colleges of Gujarat.It is held in March-April month of every year.

13. JK CET (Jammu and Kashmir Common Entrance Test)

This test is conducted by J&K State Board of Higher Secondary Education for UG admission into all medical colleges of J&K.It is held in May-June month of every year.

14. JCECE (Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Exam)

This test is conducted by Jharkhand State Board of Higher Secondary Education for UG admission into all medical colleges of Jharkhand.It is held in March-April month of every year.

15. KCET (Karnataka Common Entrance Test)

This test is conducted by Karnataka State Board of Higher Secondary Education for UG admission into all medical colleges of Karnataka. It is held in June every year.

16. KEAM (Kerala Engineering Agriculture Medical Common Entrance Exam)

This test is conducted by Kerala State Board of Higher Secondary Education for UG admission into all medical colleges of Kerala.It is held in March-April month of every year.

17. MP DMAT (Madhya Pradesh Dental and Medical Admission Test)

This test is conducted by Madhya Pradesh State Board of Higher Secondary Education for UG admission into all medical colleges of Madhya Pradesh.It is held in March-April month of every year.

18. MHT CET (Maharashtra Health and Technical Common Entrance Test)

This test is conducted by Maharashtra State Board of Higher Secondary Education for UG admission into all medical colleges of Maharashtra. It is held in June month of every year.

19. WBJEE Medical (West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Medical)

This test is conducted by West Bengal State Board of Higher Secondary Education for UG admission into all medical colleges of West Bengal.It is held in March-April month of every year.

20. OJEE Medical (Orissa Joint Entrance Exam Medical)

This test is conducted by Orissa State Board of Higher Secondary Education for UG admission into all medical colleges of Orissa.It is held in March-April month of every year.

21. RPMT (Rajasthan Pre Medical Test)

This test is conducted by Rajasthan State Board of Higher Secondary Education for UG admission into all medical colleges of Rajasthan. It is held in June-July month of every year.

22. TS EAMCET (Telangana State Engineering, Agriculture, and Medical Common Entrance Test)

This test is conducted by Telangana State Board of Higher Secondary Education for UG admission into all medical colleges of Telangana.It is held in March-April month of every year.

23. UPCMET (Uttar Pradesh Combined Medical Entrance Test)

This test is conducted by Uttar Pradesh State Board of Higher Secondary Education for UG admission into all medical colleges of Uttar Pradesh.It is held in March-April month of every year.

24. UPMT (Uttarakhand Pre Medical Test)

This test is conducted by Uttarakhand State Board of Higher Secondary Education for UG admission into all medical colleges of Uttarakhand.It is held in March-April month of every year.

25. JIPMER (Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research)

This is a very popular test which is conducted in national level to get into JIPMER, Pondicherry which is one of the leading medical institutions in India. Recently another branch of JIPMER has been opened to Karaikal too. This test is conducted in the month of June every year.
