The financial service industry is again divided into banking and non-banking financial company (NBFC).Banking industry plays a big role in the Indian economy and it is one of the biggest successful well-known industries in India. NISM (National Institute of Securities market) is a fully subsidiary of SEBI, which provides certain certification courses which are a gateway to the securities industry.

For Dealing   NISM-Series-VIII: Equity Derivatives Certification Examination
NISM Series I: Currency Derivatives Certification Examination
For Back office NISM Series VI: Depository Operations Certification Examination
For Analyst  NISM Series-XV: Research Analyst Certification Examination
For Sales NISM-Series-VIII: Equity Derivatives Certification Examination

These above certifications are essential if someone is interested in making a career in the broking industry.

Mutual fund industry is similar to broking industry in job category .main functions in mutual fund industry is

  • Sales (Marketing)
  • Back office (operation)

So for sales job same as NISM certification is mandatory by SEBI.

For sales, NISM-Series-B: Mutual Fund Foundation Certification Examination, NISM-Series-V-C: Mutual Fund Distributors (Level 2) Certification Examination is the parameters.
