Narendra Modi’s Swachh Bharat Mission will create job opportunities and business models


narender modiNation is all set for the inauguration of Swachh Bharat Mission by Prime Minister on 2nd of October, the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. The mission targets a clean India by 2019. It is going to be a mass movement, as it will be a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. He devoted his life so that India attains “Swarajya”. Through this mission Our Prime Minister has urged everyone of us to devote at least hundred hours every year i.e. two hours every week towards cleanliness. He says “I myself will set out with a broom and contribute towards this pious task”. The tagline and logo for the mission has been selected through a contest.

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and Facebook are likely to partner with the government on this Swachh Bharat Mission. The charity foundation of Microsoft founder Bill Gates & his wife will likely share its R&D experience and offer technology to accomplish the mission. Facebook is likely to be a partner for social media campaign of this launch.

This sanitation drive is going to push both the government and private sector into action. Several NGOs and other organization are going to be part of it. In fact, large population in rural and urban areas, including teachers and students are going to be part of it. This mission “Swachh Bharat” and “Waste to Wealth” initiative could create good business models and job opportunities. Modi has also shared his vision of waste water management and solid waste management in 500 towns across India. It will be done thorough various private-public partnerships. The mission will require a mass of people to get aligned with the mission, which will open up large number of job opportunities.

Now the question is “Are we ready for a Swachh Bharat”?
