National e-library and wi-fi provisions in classrooms

Government is all set to give education a different shape in the country. It has decided to launch a massive national e-library to the students in classrooms. It is also going to provide wi-fi facility to the students. The education system will no more be the same traditional one. Students of new generation are going to get a huge help from these facilities.

The government is also coming up to create a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) platform called “SWAYAM”. The work is going on to launch these to the institutes. In terms of building the national e-library and creating wi-fi connectivity, they have already started to work on it.

There has been an agreement signed between IIT Bombay and Edex to take the venture forward. Amita Sharma, advisor, ministry of human resource development spoke on this at the Indo-US Technology Summit 2014. This summit was organized recently organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry, the Department of Science and Technology, the government of India and the US Department of State.

Government is taking really strong steps to make education system better in the country. In the coming days it is also going to add a few more things to the classroom education which includes cloud computing, mobile learning, tablet computing, MOOC, open content and learning analytics. It will give students a complete new experience of education.
