As per the Report of Times of India, private institutes of Maharashtra are not able to collect fees from students for more than one year for Professional Courses. Violation of the rule will attract penalty for such Private Institutes.
The state Govt of Maharashtra trying to regulate the private unaided institute over admission and collection of fees for their professional courses. Also, all those institute must be display course wise fees structure approved by authority on notice Board of the institute. Same fees can not be revised till the end of the course. But in some cases if the expenses rise suddenly, the institute can appeal to the authority for the same.
There is a punishment of fine of 1 lakh to 5 lakh for the breach of the code of conduct and also attract imprisonment for the college management for the submission of the fake document in the mean of profit. Even the excess fees charged by the private institute will be refunded to the students.
This bill is implemented to provide fair practice in the admission process and to give a full stop to unwanted fees hike in the education sector.
