Permanent Campus for 7 New IIMs

On 6th September, Thursday the HRD minister Prakash Javedkar has announced that the proposal of establishment permanent campus for 7 new IIMs is cleared.

These 7 IIMs were established in the year 2015-16 and 2016-17 and are presently functioning from temporary campuses.

The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved the establishment and functioning of permanent campus of seven new Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) at Amritsar, Bodh Gaya, Nagpur, Sambalpur, Sirmaur, Vishakhapatnam and Jammu, and their recurring expenditure at a total cost of Rs 3775.42 crore (Rs 2999.96 crore as Non-Recurring and Rs 775.46 Crore as Recurring Expenditure).

Permanent Campus for 7 New IIMsAfter the announcement, the HRD minister has posted the full list of the budget allocated to establish 7 new IIMs in the country. Each of these IIMs will be constructed in an area of 60384 Sq.m having a capacity of 600 students each with complete infrastructure.

According to the Government of India the construction of these 7 IIMs shall be completed by June 2021, and with this, all the 20 IIMs have their own campus.

IIM is a dream college for all MBA aspirants who are dying to secure their management careers. The approval will promote the economic and industrial development of the country.

This is one of the great initiatives by Govt to improve education quality and create opportunities for Indian Students in the management field.
