Six New Medical Colleges in Karnataka by 2015


medical educationAs per the Announcement of Karnataka State Medical Education Department, 6 New Medical College will be established in the economically backward Districts in the State.

Tumkur, Chitradurga, Chikbalapur, Bagalkot, Haveri and ydgir is the  place where New medical college is Proposed. After this decission , karnataka will become the state with Highest number of Medical colleges in the Country. The number of Govt Medical College will be 22.

The Budgeted Expenditure is 199 Crore and the expectation of completion of the construction will be 2015.

Currently Karnataka has 16 Medical colleges located at Bangalore, Mysore, Bellary, Hubli, Bidar, Raichur, Belgum, Shimoga, Hasan and Mandya.

After the function of new medical colleges, the total number of medical seat will be increased to 4000 from 2200 seats under the Govt Quota.

The establishment of medical colleges will add value to the health care system and provide the job benefit to the near by people.
