Varun Agarwal , a 25 year old filmmaker, entrepreneur and a bestselling author is known to have surpassed his own talent to become only better at everything. The co-founder of Alma Mater is the author of the bestseller ‘How I Braved Anu Aunty & Co-founded A Million Dollar Company’. He is also the co-founder of ‘Reticular’ which is a social media marketing firm.

A production company in Bombay noticed his talent in the video and offered him a full time job of directing. Varun Agarwal was only 20 years old.

A few months after college, in 2008, he was already directing videos for ‘Phat Phish Productions in Bombay. This took him directly in the studios of A R Rahman, helping him in directing. He also directed PrietyZinta in music video for a song by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy.

In the following year, he decided to start a company with one of his friends. An E commerce company, the entire business plan was written down on a piece of tissue. Despite opposition from his friends and family, he started it anyway. According to him “Ideas like these are born every time young, enthusiastic entrepreneurial minds meet up.”

The book ‘How I Braved Anu Aunty & Co-founded A Million Dollar Company’ was based on his story, how he faced difficulties from his friends and family about founding the company, and how despite him doubting his own caliber, he went on to become a successful entrepreneur.
